Shani Rhys James features in The Contemporary Art Society for Wales (CASW) 80th anniversary exhibition. Seminal works acquired and gifted to public collections around Wales by Glenys Cour, Tim Davies, Josef Herman, Gwen John, Cedric Morris, David Nash, Ceri Richards, Lois Williams and Sue Williams are also in this exhibition.
Since 1938 the Contemporary Art Society for Wales (CASW) has acquired around 900 works by 500 artists. These are now held as part of well-known public collections across Wales – a vital record of Welsh art through the decades.
Then + Now: 80 Years of Collecting Contemporary Art for Wales will be in the Futures Gallery of the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay for the duration of the 2018 National Eisteddfod, from Saturday 4 August to Saturday 11 August (from 10am to 7pm each day).
